Spark Afrique
This is an event that will solely define the cultural values of Nigeria through the display of different attires made from Nigerian/African prints and fabrics. The aim of this great event is to bring to limelight our Nigerian designs to the viewing public and also recognize the fact that the Nigerian fabrics can be used to make and design Western and European wears, therefore this will be a platform to promote Nigerian designers and her designs, thereby promoting the Nigerian culture. This is an event that will bring back to mind the fading dress sense that was once the African Pride. We are known to be traditional in our dressing but now Western and European culture has taken its toll on our cultural values.
Therefore this event will be an avenue to revive and bring back the Nigerian Pride and resurrect the Nigerian woman in her glory, who and what she represents in the society!!!
This great event will go a long way to promote the fashion industry and Nigeria at large. Fashion is not just about clothes but the totality of a man’s dressing; so this event will also showcase the importance of cosmetics, hair beauty products, fashion accessories (such as beads and other African jewelries), and other aspects of fashion. It will also help to strengthen the bonds between the governments, Cooperate organizations and the society; also help the development program which the Executive Governor has taken upon himself for the benefit of the youths, women and the community at large. This will also be an avenue to develop the local designers who are seen as tailors, thereby creating jobs and employment opportunities for the youths of Lagos State and thus, promoting the Lagos State fashion industry. Fashion is one of Nigerian’s richest industry that if well managed will help reduce not only the unemployment rate but also the crime rate in the society.
With the knowledge that entertainment is now the bedrock of the youths of our time, this event will be an avenue to help develop the upcoming artists, models, designers and would-be designers. So there will be live musical displays and other entertaining activities to lighten the atmosphere.
Spark Afrique is an event that we help bring back the fading Nigerian/African fashion glory; Nigerian design is slowly fading out of the fashion market because of the great influence of the European and Western innovations into the system. Where are the Kentes, Aso Oke, Kampala, Tie & Dye materials? Everyone now wants to be seen and recognized as a western man using civilization as an excuse. Nigerians are gradually losing their set values because of civilization, for this purpose XQUIZIT CYN’JAAAY CREATIONS decided to organize an event that will help revive the NIGERIAN PRIDE; our pride is in our culture, traditions and values; all these can be seen in our dressing.
We also hope to attract a large number of our key consumers of world fashions, designers and showbiz personalities. Marketing will be focused locally as well as regionally to ensure the highest impact. For good public awareness, invitations will be sent to several of our local electronic and print media such as Silver-Bird Television, Galaxy Television, Super-Screen Television, Television Continental (TVC), AIT, City People Magazine, Encomium Magazine, Spice TV, etc. to partner with us for the pre and post-promotion of this Event.
Designers for this event will come from Abuja, other parts of Nigeria and Africa at large. Adverts and publicity will be placed on Radio Stations, TV stations, the internet and other advertising media. For designers, there will be screening and those shortlisted will be notified via email or text messages. The stipulated number of designers is 12(twelve) to 15(fifteen) and they will be allowed to showcase 15 to 20 different Nigerian/African designs made with Nigeria/African fabrics. 20(twenty) professional models both male and female will be on the run-way. There will be an audition for models and after that, the selected few will pass through training and rigorous rehearsal before the event day.
This is an event that will offer and provide advance/first-class knowledge to those that are already in the fashion industry or those that will like to go into the fashion industry. This will be an avenue for them to learn more about beads making, hat making, adire (African Native attire) making, etc. In creating an avenue for youths, women and the community at large to learn more about entrepreneurship through fashion, we also want them to retain the Nigerian Pride and be more resourceful to the community.
It will also be an avenue for fashion industries, corporate bodies and companies on beauty products, fashion merchants and individuals to help move the Nigeria Fashion industry above her counterparts. This great revival can be attained with support from corporate bodies and the government bearing in mind that Nigeria can still be recognized as one of the best in the fashion world.
There will be other side attractions like music, dance, comedy and other creative arts both for upcoming and professional artists to lighten the atmosphere and also promote our Nigerian and African artists. It’s a wide knowledge that music is a universal language, so the event will also provide an opportunity to showcase a variety of music so people can unwind and at the same time, be educated more about the fashion industry in Nigeria.
This event is being organized by XQUIZIT CYN’JAAAY CREATIONS for the communal benefit of the people and is run only on volunteer efforts. All funding for this fashion show is to come by way of sponsorships from businesses, organizations and other fund-raising efforts.
